What Is Bowl For Kids� Sake? [ back ]Bowl For Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana's largest annual fundraising campaign. The campaign culminates in community-wide bowling events in February and March- parties we hold to thank the members of the community for coming through for the kids. It's not about the bowling, it's about taking part in a fun activity to help local kids in need! .When Is Bowl For Kids� Sake? [ back ]The 2010 Bowl For Kids� Sake fundraising campaign takes place from November 2009 through March of 2010. Starting in November, people pull together teams and raise money until the campaign concludes with the bowling parties in February and March. The Community Bowl for Kids' Sake Campaign is February 27th, 28th and March 6th at Classic Lanes. The IU Bowl for Kids' Sake Campaign is March 3rd and 4th at Indiana Memorial Union Back Alley.Who Bowls? [ back ]You, your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors� anyone and everyone. People across the community pull together bowling teams and ask for pledges. Many add to the fun by challenging others to friendly fundraising competitions. Then they come and settle the score at Classic Lanes!How Do I Get Involved? [ back ]It's easy. As a team captain, gather 4 additional friends, family members or colleagues to be your team members, and use your desire to have fun to raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters. Register your team then you will be able to set up a fundraising team website that you can email friends and family from for donations!Or you can use a paper pledge sheet that will be available in December to help raise funds. When you arrive at the bowling center with your team, you hand in your sponsor contributions and pledges, pick up a complimentary T-Shirt, and have a blast at the party we throw to thank you for all you've done for us. IU Bowlers are asked to bring all offline donations on the night of your bowl. How Does It Work? [ back ]
If you are unable to form a team, but would like to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, you can easily make a secure online donation through a team's Kintera Sphere Website, our agency website, or you can register as an individual and begin to raise money online!
What is a Corporate Challenge? [ back ]A fundraising challenge is issued to the business community. Employees and all community members who raise the most funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters receive the right to display one of the coveted Traveling Trophies. How to respond to the challenge? Designate a company rep to serve as a Team Recruiter and watch the fun begin! Encourage interdepartmental challenges, or even challenge another business to a friendly fundraising competition. Use your team Kintera Sphere Website to begin this friendly competition and watch the thermometer rise!
What Impact Does Bowl For Kids� Sake Have On My Community? [ back ]Revenues from BFKS make up over 1/3 of the operating budget for Big Brother Big Sisters. All money raised goes directly to support a match between a caring, adult role model (�Big�) and a local child between 6 and 17 (�Little�). National research has shown that the positive relationships between Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles have a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on children�s lives.
What Is This Year�s Theme? [ back ]This year�s theme at the bowling center is Classic TV. Every year, we choose a �theme� to spice things up at the bowling center. Many people come dressed accordingly. Others come dressed to represent their group or organization. Everyone has a great time. So, gather your friends, get some pledges and then get ready to roll by registering your team today. If you have theme ideas for next year, please let us know!
Who is Kintera? [ back ]Kintera is a marketing infrastructure service provider offering advanced Internet fundraising solutions to charitable, educational and political organizations. BBBS of South Central Indiana has contracted with Kintera to provide online support for the 2010 Bowl For Kids' Sake Campaign. Through the website you can register for the event, collect donations from family and friends and more.
What is unique about the Kintera website? [ back ]This website is so unique because it offers the capability for individuals to not only register for the event, but also to collect donations from their friends and family through a much more efficient mechanism. BBBS of South Central Indiana Event Manager and the event Bowler can track the progress of donation collections through viewing secured online reports.
Is my information secure with Kintera? [ back ]Yes. Kintera has made every effort to protect your information. They use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet. They have also installed an encryption engine on our database server so that your data is securely stored.
Will Kintera put my name on various mailing lists? [ back ]Kintera, Inc. collects and maintains only personal information that is voluntarily submitted to them. They will only share personally identifiable information with a third party if and when the individual submitting this information has permitted them to do so, or if required by law to do so. BBBS of South Central Indiana will also maintain a copy of your information.
